Ashna Hussain Mar 7th Yeah...saving trees are a start to saving the world. But the lack of trees ain't the only problem.....there's pollution too. Pollution from cars and other vehicles, pollution from factories, and pollution from littering. So I think that the most effective way to save the world would be to reduce pollution. Walk or cycle when u can, etc. But anyhows, planting/saving trees is a pretty good start. Apparently there is only supposed to like 30 - 40% of rainforests left covering the earth. Pretty disastrous if you ask me.

Syed Anas bin Qamar Jan 7th I don't think the school children should carry heavy bags because it causes shoulder and back pain. Even doctors say that small children shouldn't carry heavy loads as it might effect their height. So I think every single school should have lockers given to the students so that they put their unnecessary books in the lockers rather than taking them home and making the bag heavy. I think this solution works because my school didn't have lockers before, and they introduce this idea, it worked. I have seen a dramatic change in my back pack and sometimes the bag is really light. So I think every school should have lockers to overcome the heavy backpack problem..

Muhammad Umer 2011 Jan 10th Though you may not be aware of it consciously, the fact is you have always had an interest in language. The day you were born you attempted to express your feelings and you've been trying to do so ever since. As you grew older the sounds you made developed into definite forms or words which were symbols representing your thoughts. But the question is, why you use your native tongue? To express your feelings! But what about other people? We need to grasp their feelings also. Secondly, every human being should learn a new language before he dies. you are asking, why? To extend your thoughts, off course! Every language has some distinct range of words which reflect their culture and civilization. To interact with those people, we have to learn their language. I think now should come to the main topic. It is one of our terrible thoughts that the language of Pakistan is Udru, no its only a national language. Not the official language. It was declared in the constitution of 1973 that the next government would take steps to declare Urdu as our official language but nothing happened. We use English in our offices, documents, etc. If anyone studies the science of this world, s/he would have to note that "its those nations who are prosperous who use their own language for their feelings" But wherever our authorities go , they use English exactly opposite to what Chinese, and Japanese do. Thirdly, It was said by a very big authority, "Acquire knowledge even it requires to go to China." (Prophet Muhammed S.A.W.) But if you ponder a little, you will get to know that if someone really act on this order, he would have to go to China and try to understand what the Chinese teach him. How? off course by learning their language. We cannot force them to teach us in their language. So today you should better replace it for America (although people hate that country), and then when you are an authority yourself, change the rule. "To change a rule, follow it! reach to its top, then declare it wrong."

Maymoona Mohsin 2010 Oct 12th Assalam o alaikum.You all are right in away but think about this fact that if we will not learn english,which is an international language how we will be able to interact with other countries for communication,business or for any thing else.History is testimony that many countries were occupied by their enemies and the main reason was that they could'nt understand their enemy's language and in their own country newsletter of other languages were printed and the paper was against the country but they do not know because they don't understand their language.Although mother tongue is also very important because it is our identity.

Mohammed Waleed 2010 Aug 11th @Salik Khan.I am not talking about the persian language today.If you just read history, Persian WAS the main language of WHOLE sub-continent.Just after the British arrival, things changed.And not only in linguistic matters, but in other matters too.As for your science thing, learning or using languages for debates and discussions wont do any good.If geniuses wont understand English, then(like even NOW)? @HBN Princess You just changed the whole topic.Its not about religion.Currently, we are talking about studies.If you talk about religion, then definitely learning more languages will help.But we are talking about Studies now :).And for the history thing, WHY ONLY HISTORY is all I am asking.Wont our mother tongue in Science give us more freedom? You are right about it.But freedom is not achieved by language.Its achieved by deeds.I can bet that I understand history equally in all languages if I understand all of them(languages).I am not trying to support English either way, but all I am trying to say is "Teach everything in same way". Correct me if I am wrong :D

HBN PRINCESS 2010 Aug 10th @Mohammad Waleed!It is true that every language delivers the same message but u can see wid the other point of view that learning more lang. will help us to spread ISLAM is that true and as the history subject considered so, I want to tell u that we should study history in that lang. in which we see dreams and in which we think to learn more and more to understand perfectly.one other thing is that in other languages we r limited we have limited things but in our mother tongue we r free!!!!!!!!!!!

Mohammed Waleed 2010 Aug 9th @HBNPrincess, Why only History? In my view, Language has nothing to do with subjects(or any subject). Education does not involve the words we learn but the concept we learn, the knowledge we get.Infact, I think all the subjects should be taught in one language.Either English,Urdu,Hindi,Bengali,Chinese or African.Every language will deliver the same thing.The thing which should be thought more is why only "English" is made compulsory.Before in the whole subcontinent, Persian had the status what English has today.

Mohammed Waleed 2010 Jul 19th I don't think that English is necessary for studying and especially for Science. We just gain knowledge when we study, so language doesn't matter. And Science is the subject which has nothing to do with languages. And you are right, it becomes problem for students and I have many such students in my class. So as long as they study, it’s alright. On the other hand, English has become a standard in every field of education and professions all over the world. So it’s almost necessary to learn English too. But we should never lose our identity. English is English and our mother tongue is our mother tongue. So we should speak both of them, provided that both are necessary.
