“I was given my first pair of skates when I was seven years old, and I’ve spends lots of time on the skating since then Figure skating is a beautiful, but demanding sport. It has taught me the value of discipline, hard work, and getting up and trying again after you fall down. I‘ve had ups and downs in my skating career, but the most important thing I’ve learned is that you need to have a positive attitude. Whether you skate competitively or just for fun and exercise, the right attitude will always give you an edge.”
I aspired to make a career in skating. I started skating in 2001. I participated in my first competition that was in 2002, it was a City level competition held in August 2002 at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. I got a bronze medal in the under-8 Category. The second competition in which i participated was held at KMC in which I got a silver medal 2nd position. It was encouraged by the support of my parents which got me to start skating. Initially I was frightened of skating for fear of falling but with continuous practice I overcame my fear. Minor injuries were part of my game. The experience taught me to overcome my fears rather than my over fear coming me. Although it is not easy but with hard work and God's grace nothing is impossible. Despite my parents encouragement it was my coach Sir Tahir who always supported and encouraged me to do well.
My favourites in X-Game are stopping on ramp, Excel on ramp, & stretching in Air, zigzag crossing. Sir Tahir helped me to practise in these stunts and I really did well. I have been amongst his best students. While, I continued my skating I met many children of my age and amongst those Sarim Shamir one of the best skating players who have participated in National and International Skating competition in recent years had been my friend. We did skating together in our childhood but i could not challenge his expertise.
Sarim proceeded with his skating career but i left skating in 2007 because I heard it’s a boys career but  now I again I have got an opportunity to restart my skating career. It’s my Dawood Public School through which I have got a chance to practise skating in the presence of my very own coach Sir Tahir, and along my college mates.
And now it’s my aspiration to participate in National and International Skating Championships and represent my country Pakistan and to show the world that girls are not weaker... I just need the support and prayers of you people. THANKS
