Rank 9 Out of 10
It is one of the carnivores plants
But people grow it as a house plant
Opens its jaw-like leaves in an awful snarl
And when it shuts, no escape for a fly at all!
When a fly lands on it and drinks its sap,
Which is actually just a trap.
On the "jaws" are six small spikes
If a fly hits it, and the spike is tapped,
The plant then sets up a timer.
A second time the spike is hit.....ZAP!!!
The "jaws" snap shut
And the poor fly is crushed like a coconut.
The plant digests the fly
And for help, the fly desperately cries.
Ten days later, the trap re-opens,
To reveal a horrible husk you're not hopin' to see it.
