Jamie was an ordinary girl who lived in an ordinary villa with her mother, father, two brothers and her Aunt Marie and Uncle Dave. She was the friendliest and most loving girl in the whole village. Next door lived Jamie's grandparents and cousins. Jamie was often lonely because she had no one to play with. Her two younger brothers were playing with each other but never let Jamie play because she was a 'girl'. Jamie used to go by the riverside and play in the mud when she felt naughty. But most of the time she was at her grandparent's house, sitting on her grandfather's knee and listening to his childhood stories and helping her with her arithmetic.(Jamie had no friends at school)She helped her granny bake cookies and cupcakes. Now, grandpa's birthday was coming in April and Jamie wanted to give him something special, but all she could think was of cards and flowers. She was roaming around in her garden and felt quite tired. She sat down under a peach tree and that peach tree was opposite to a lime tree. Soon Jamie dozed off. After a while, something woke her up. She felt what it was and took it in her hand. A Peach! That one peach gave Jamie a brilliant idea. She collected 10 more in her apron and took it into the kitchen. She put the peaches on the table and started to mash them. MASH MASH MASH! When all that mashing was done, she tasted to see if it was sweet enough, but it wasn't. She remembered that her cooking teacher told her that lime was a natural sweetener and a few drops of lime would be perfect. So Jamie picked a lime and cut it in half and started to squeeze it. Now the jam was sweet. She put that mixture in a jar and tied the jar with a bright ribbon saying:"Happy Birthday Grandpa!"Grandpa was delighted to see the extraordinary gift and it tasted so nice that he ate it in one go! He made many duas for his little granddaughter. Jamie had given the perfect gift.
