Most of us must practically hate their sisters. But why? We don’t have a proper reason. Only lame excuses and harsh ‘sayings’, “She told mom that I did that!”Or “Does she have to butt in everything? It’s my life… why is she so concerned?” Or “I wish I was the only one in my family. Then I would be more than happy.” And etc. We always look at people’s faults and when others point out ours we are more than mad, furious, offended and upset. You get what you deserve, sometimes you don’t deserve it but you get… why? Of course God must be happy with you or testing you. You must be wondering “Why is this here??” So I’ll tell you. Whatever happens to you is because or Allah’s Will not yours. And now back to the topic. When our sisters point out these faults, they do not do it for fun. It seems so at the time being but trust me it’s not.
Whatever they do is for our benefit not theirs. If your sister tells you not to do something bad, how is that going to help her? It’s only because they love us and are trying to make our life better! Here is a story.
‘Maryam was crying. Her sister was not playing with her. Maryam thought that her sister was making a lame excuse by saying that she had her Chemistry paper tomorrow. Maryam had screamed, shouted out words that were harsh and some that made no sense at all. She lied on her bed and cried till she could not cry more. She remembered herself saying that her sister hated her so much that she could sell her and buy the bunny she doted on! Maryam realized that she was being cruel to her elder sister. After all she had taken care of her when their mom is not at home and cuddled and sat by her till she slept. Soon her mom called her for dinner. Both Maryam and her sister were sulking. Their mother decided to make them friends and Maryam’s sister agreed quickly. Maryam apologized to her releasing how kind her sister was. The next day Maryam wanted to buy a chocolate from the money her sister gave her. Maryam knew that her sister was saving money to buy the half price of the bunny but Maryam did not care. She ran to the mini mart near their house and her sister came with her. Maryam was jumping with joy. Then suddenly her sister called out “Look out!” Maryam did look and saw a car closing on her… she was surely going to die. Saying her last prayer she heard people screaming but nothing happened… at least to her. But her sister was lying in a pool of blood. Her sister said this before being put on the stretcher, “listen sisters should love each other and I love you …”then she was gone. Maryam fainted. When she woke up she saw herself lying in her bed. Thank God it was a dream. I’ll go and apologize to her now. When she came out of her room she saw many people gathered around her sobbing mother. Her mother hugged her. Maryam suddenly felt empty. “Mama is she coming home?” her mother replied, fighting back tears, “She is gone and she will never return”.’
Hope you will start liking and then loving your elder sisters and know that they are nothing but a blessing from Allah.
