All around the world people tell stories about seeing mysterious monsters in remote place. The story-tellers are often accused if making things up. But a discovery is made which proves them right.
Now back to our topic: YETI. The Yeti or the abominable snowman is a mysterious ape-like cryptic that is reported to exist in the high Himalayan region of Nepal and Tibet. The word "yeti" comes from the Sherpa words "yeh-teh" which means "that thing". It is reported that a yeti has a blood-curdling menacing howl and glowing eyes and is powerfully built. The yeti is described like this: It is covered with red-brown hair and is hairy. It has a low sloping forehead, heavy ridged eye brows, deep-set eyes, heavy jaw filled with rows of long sharp teeth. Weighs nearly 800 lbs and is 8ft 6" tall. A yeti resembles like the Bigfoot in North America.
Since the yeti hails from the Himalayan region, the local people, who are Sherpas, greatly fear the yeti. They believe that the yeti is the Wild Man of the Mountains. Some believe that it protects the mountains from the evil doers. Some even believe that the yeti is a Mountain Spirit and is very noble.
If you find yeti footprint in the snow, it would probably resemble like a human footprint, but twice as wide. The footprint of yeti is nearly 13 inch!! And have sunk much deeper which tells us that the yeti is incredibly heavy. And the clear toe prints show that the yeti walks barefoot in the snow! Scientists say that the footprints could have been made by a large bear but by looking at the toe prints, the foot print could have been by a large ape-like creature.

The yeti has been sighted by a number of people who reported that the yeti kills the yaks (type of animal) by crushing them in its long powerful arms. This suffocates the yaks, causing them to die. The footprints of yeti have been spotted by a number of people. In 1951, mountaineer Eric Shipton and his companions came across a line of strange footprints in Himalayan mountain range. Then in 1992, explorer Julian Freeman-Atwood saw footprints on a glacier in Himalayas that no one had climbed for 30 years. It is still a mystery that how a yeti finds enough food on the snow covered mountains and where does it sleep...
