In the Holy month of Ramadan fasting is compulsary for a muslim.Fasting is to abstain from eating, drinking and sins from dawn to sunset.

In fasting,a person starves during the day,no matter how hungry or thirsty he is,he doesn't eat or drink due to fear of Allah. In the month of Ramadan a man is trained to avoid sins as he avoids food and drink due to fear of Allah.

Food and drinks are a blessing of Allah. We don't realize their value normal days when we get food and water whenever we want them. But in the month of Ramadan,we fast and stop ourselves from eating or drinking for the whole day. When we are hungry and thirsty and can't eat and drink, only then we can realize the real blessing of food and water and then we become truly thankful. In this situation,we feel the sorrow of poor and orphans. We have to thank Allah for the blessed month of Ramadan.
