Katy was enjoying her new gift a bicycle from her father. She had been riding it for an hour and her friends Jim and Laura were watching her play. Suddenly two men dressed as jokers came and offered Jim and Laura some sweets. Before Jim could stop her Laura had taken a mouth full of candies. For a minute it seems that she likes the taste but second moment she had fainted. The two men were so quick that they bumped Laura into their circus van and driving away before Jim could even make a sound.
When Jim told Katy what had happened they ran straight to the police station. When Jim told officer what had happened Laura’s mother Mrs. Carter was also called to police station as well. She was being informed about the incident when she received a phone call.
The phone call was from kidnappers they had demanded a very high Ransom which Mrs. Carter cannot afford after hanging up Laura’s mother burst into tears and told officers about the conversation with kidnappers. The officer asked Jim and Katy to go back home. And he assured Mrs. Carter that an incident like Laura had happen before so they would be found and captured in three to four days a time. The third day came and Mrs. .Carter received a phone call from the officer, giving her good news that her daughter is with them and the kidnappers had been caught. So Mrs. Carter rush to police station and hugged Laura tightly, but at the moment the officer bought prison and Mrs. Carter was left in shock.
''CARL you.....!!!" Said Mrs. Carter to a man standing amongst the prisoner.
"Is that girl 'Laura' our Laura?" said the man called Carl Carter.
"Carl did you kidnap your own daughter; is this what you left me and Laura for?
"I swear I did not know she was my daughter. I am so sorry!" Said Carl.
"You are HER FATHER said Mrs. Carter.
From that day onwards Laura Carter grew up knowing up that her father was a criminal and so she decided that she would join the police and fight against the crime.
