Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar. This month’s main important thing is fasting. This month comes after Shaban. In, Arabic we call it Sawm. In, this month Muslims fast from Namaz-e-Fajr to Namaz-e-Maghrib. In the month of Ramadan Muslims wake up early in the morning. They do wudu and offer tahajud. They eat a meal before Fajr which we call ‘Sahri’. When, the azan starts of Namaz-e-Fajr they stop eating. After azan the Muslim men go to the mosque while the women offer the namaz at home. After, hearing the azan of Maghrib they open the fast with eating dates. They eat a light food which we call ‘Iftar’. When, the month of Ramadan starts: 1. Heaven doors are opened. 2. Hell doors are closed. 3. Devil is locked. The heaven doors are opened that a Muslim can gain as much recompense (sawab) he/she wants. On the 29th day of Ramadan Muslims see the moon of Eid. Ramadan is just not to fast but to worship God. Fast is compulsory on every Muslim.
