From the start, I have been lucky to have good teachers but one teacher played an important role in building my character. When I was in class 2, I was very shy. It was difficult for me to talk to anyone even with my teachers. Miss Saira was my class teacher. She was very friendly and soft spoken. She encouraged students to participate in different activities. She kept a book shelf in the corner of the class and encouraged students to bring books or magazines. In this way, she motivated the students to read and share books with each other. When I wrote my first poem she made me recite it in the assembly. That was a turning point in my life. At first it was very hard to speak in front of so many students, but as time passed and with Miss Saira’s continuous support I began to develop confidence. Soon I was a confident girl thanks to Miss Saira. I shall always cherish her words when she told my mother that I am like a diamond that needs to be polished. She also told my mother that she wished she had a daughter like me. Last year a children’s magazine had a story writing competition and I won. I think it would not have been possible without Miss Saira’s motivation. I owe my accomplishment to her. She left school last year but I know that her blessings and best wishes are with me.
