Ramsha was a fifteen years old girl. She was a very bright student of her class. She always secured good marks. But she had a complex of her dark complexion. She thought that her physical would act as a hindrance in her way to success. Her class mates used to make fun of her dark complexion and used to call her “Black cat”. Their harsh remarks made Ramsha very sad and gradually she started losing interest in her studies.
She even started ignoring her brother and sister and did not like to mix with them and playing with them. Her mother was noticing these changes in her. She felt she should talk to Ramsha and ask her if she was suffering from any problem. Ramsha told her mother about her class fellows’ remarks. Ramsha’s mother advised her not to pay attention to peoples comments because they could not see anyone happy.
Her mother tried to make her realize of the fact that inside beauty is much better than outside beauty. This world is very cruel and you have to face criticism from all quarters. Be strong enough to take everything in your side. Fair complexion does not make people beautiful and attractive; it is the good nature and good heart that make you beautiful and loving. To make fun of others is the biggest sin and being a Muslim we should not make fun of others just because they are not so perfect. You know our beloved Prophet (P.B.U.H) said “Person with fair complexion is not superior to person with dark complexion.”
So do not get hurt by harsh remarks of your mates, just pay attention to your studies. You are a bright student and I am sure that you will make a good career so what if you have dark complexion.
Ramsha was convinced; she promised that now she will stop worrying about her dark complexion and enjoy her life happily.
