“Risha!” called Mom loudly. “It’s 12 on the clock; almost half of the day has passed. Now leave the bed at once!” Lazily Risha left the bed frowning and rushed into the washroom. This wasn’t the first time but such all things were a part of Risha’s life. Today at school, Miss Amnah handed over the date sheet for Annual examinations and advised the students that instead of waiting for tomorrow they must start preparing from today. The children were naturally agitated hearing about exams. Reaching home Risha announced that almost a month has left in her exams. But to everyone’s astonishment she wasn’t worried a bit as if it was not a month but a whole year. “Risha! Can you just stop this useless net surfing? Your exams are at hand!” said his brother in an angry tone but as usual she was utterly heedless. “Leave this cell phone Risha and concentrate on your preparation. There is not much time left in your exams.” said Mom but she was too careless to realize the importance of her time. As the days continued to pass by exams came very near and it was now that Risha started to get worried. The time was less and there was a lot to study. It was the last night before exam. Risha saw the wall clock as it struck twelve at midnight. Her head was aching badly with all the sums, equations and formulas jumbled up inside. She was feeling blank. Glancing at all the books spread on her study table, she felt pity on herself. Tick Tock…Tick Tock… the time was passing by as she starred at the table clock. There was no power on earth that could pause this time for her. She was regretting each moment she had wasted. She was now realizing the worth of TIME! Had she realized this earlier she wouldn’t have to see this night today. Suddenly she started to smile and her eyes shone up as she glared at the hadith framed on the wall which read, “There are two blessings which many people lose. (They are) health and free time for doing good.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari) And who knew this would bring a new dawn in her life.
