Rank 9 Out of 10
Among the stories of bravery I can recall
Let me tell you the most gallant of all
I still remember that dark night
Of 6th September, 1965
All my children lay peacefully in bed
Unaware of dangers that lay ahead
It was the last hour of night
When I witnessed a horrible sight
Tankers and aircrafts standing in line
Walking fearlessly on the chest of mine
Though painful to say but i should
There, studded with weapons my neighbours stood
They were just ready to start a fight
But how coward! To attack at night!
The sound of bullets shook the skies
Accompanied by my children's painful cries
But then, for my protection came the angels
Dressed in green they were my beautiful soldiers
They were the great warriors of Pakistan Army
Who were ready to give up their lives for me
Then started a terrible fight
That continued for seventeen days and nights
My angels fought with all their might
Many of them even lost their lives
Finally, my enemies got on their knees
Through the efforts of Major Abdul Aziz
Sarfaraz and Yonus were nevertheless
Alam and Naik were amongst the best
This is the tale of honour and love
And of martyrs, who now live in the heavens above
I think, you now know who I am
I am Pakistan, you dear homeland.
