There are many places in the world. But the Best place is Killarney. It is situated in the west corner of Ireland with its three famous lakes, above the great mountain ranges. The population is about 9000 and its economic base is tourism. It became the inspiration of poets and painters in centuries, and now it’s a commercial and tourist centre. Killarney offers a wide range of hotels. There are many excellent guest houses, farm houses, cosy homes etc in it. Many people often visit to Killarney.
The language spoken by Killarney are 89% of English, 10% of other languages and 1% of French. The weather of Killarney is sometimes cold and sometimes rainy. There are 3 lakes ok Killarney are Lough leane (the lower lake), muckross lake (the middle lake),and the upper lake .The lough leane is the largest lake and the depth is about 19km square and is rich in nutrients. There is a ross castle in Killarney which is on the shore of the lough leane, which is the largest and the stronghold castle in the Ireland. It was built by O'Donoghue Mór in the 15th century.It is located in ross land. The muckross lake is the deepest lake with the depth of 75 m (250 feet).People often visited these lakes.
The national game of Killarney is Gaelic football. Although English football is actually taken more seriously. This particular region of Ireland, County Kerry, has some excellent Gaelic football teams, including Kerry, which is a frequent winner of the All-Ireland Football Championship. You can catch a Kerry inter-county match in Killarney at the Fitzgerald Stadium.
The famous restaurant in Killarney is the stone chat cafe. This restaurant serves traditional and more cosmopolitan dishes, from Kerry lamb to Moroccan-style monkfish, and chicken wrapped in Parma ham. The great vegetarian selection includes spicy fajitas and a tagliatelle featuring coconut cream and chilli essence. Try the grilled salmon with crunchy sauté vegetable.
The currency of Killarney is euro which the Ireland chooses as the same currency. And the Killarney is in the province of Munster.
Last but not the least the facts of Killarney:
1. Immaculately kept Killarney was voted Ireland’s tidiest town in 2011.
2. It was first made popular by Queen Victoria who visited Killarney in 1861 staying at Muckross House
3. With the exception of Dublin there are more hotel beds in Killarney than in any other town or city in Ireland.
4. Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohill 3,400 feet is nearby ringing the majestic lakes of Killarney.
5. Ireland’s greatest Gaelic footballer, today is Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper a native of the town and captain of the Kerry football team.
