Christopher Stephen had just relaxed from his enthralling encounter at the meat-shop when he heard a knock at the door. He opened the door and in came a worried man, of about 40 years and said, "Mr. Stephen, my name is Jonas Marvey and I have come to you to discuss a dangerous case. My daughter, Julie Marvey, had been kidnapped from my house and there is no information about her up till now. I hoped you could take out some time from your busy schedule and may help me in this case
"Please don't panic...I'm going to ask you some questions, "said Stephen.
"Oh...OK, said Jonas.
"Who informed you that your daughter had disappeared?"
"My mother."
"Where were you at the time your mother informed you?"
"Me and my wife go for work from 7 am to 8pm, so my wife and I were in our office."
"Who else was there in the house at that time?"
"Apart from my mom, our maid Betty was there."
Have you asked the maid about Julie?"
"Yes but she did not give a proper reply. She said she was unaware of this kidnapping." said Jonas.
"At what time your mother got to know that Julie is not in the house?" asked the detective.
"She disappeared around 5pm in the evening."
"Let us meet the witnesses, your mother and maid Betty," said Stephen.
