1 Person like this!

Rank 9 Out of 10
Have you seen the great circus pony?
He’s sleek, tall and gray
and he’s known as Ebony.
He works in films, and shows,
lays down pretending to be dead.
But one time he forgot
and he raised his head!
Poor kids, they were startled,
and soon there was an uproar.
It was actually kinda funny.
Anyway, his owner came over.
He said gently,
as he patted the pony’s head:
“Oh, dear, Ebony;
you have to STAY DEAD!”
Based on ‘Ebony Joins the Circus’ by Josephine Pullien-Thompson. I’ve read the story in ‘The Pullien-Thompson Treasury of Horse and Pony Stories, by Christine, Diana and Josephine Pullien-Thompson, three sisters who are experts in the equestrian field.
