Ancient Yo-Yo
Ancient Yo-Yo
The yo-yo does date from antiquity. An ancient Greek urn has a painting depicting a boy playing with a yo-yo. Romans, Egyptians, Greeks, English and Scots played with yo-yos. In 1866 a patent was issued to James L. Haven and Charles Hittrick of Cincinnati for an improved yo-yo known as a whirligig.
