M is for Mango

Outside — the hot sun shining bright.
Inside — our class learning to write,
We are spelling m-a-n-g-o.
We are smelling mango —
Outside — hanging easy-reach height.
Outside — Sam is sucking a seed,
Inside — all together we read,
We chant “Mangoes are sweet
And delicious to ear —
Outside — Sam is doing the deed.
Outside — It’s a ripe mango day.
Inside — we learn ‘taking away”
With ... three mangoes from four?
I can’t take any more
...Miss PLEASE can we go out to play?
