Ali ibn Abi Talib

 
   
 
Ali ibn Abi Talib is one of the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the fourth orthodox caliph. He was also the cousin and son-in-law of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
Ali was born 29 years after the incident of Am al-Fil (the Year of the Elephant) and almost after 10 years of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), on Friday 13th Rajab. His patronymic name was Abul Hasan. He was the youngest individual to embrace the Islam at the age of just 13. He was one of the best and beloved Companion of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who at the time of migration, slept in the bed of Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) when he left with Abu Bakr for Madinah in the night. He was awarded the title of "Al-Murtaza" (the brave) by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
