Moses (Arabic موسى Musa)

Moses (Arabic موسى Musa) (1526BC - 1406BC) is a prophet in Islam. According to Islam, all Muslims must have faith in all Prophets and Messengers mentioned in the Qur'an, which includes Moses and his brother Aaron, who too was a prophet and messenger. The Qur'an mentions Moses more frequently than any other prophet and his story with the Pharaoh of the Exodus is one of the most frequently repeated stories in the Qu'ran. Many authors and scholars have generally attributed the tale of Moses as a spiritual parallel to the life of Muhammad, since many aspects of their lives are shared. Moses is revered as one of the greatest men of all times and, although the Qur'an mentions his full narrative, there are many Hadith (sayings and teachings) of Muhammad related to Moses and his life and tasks. Muslims also acknowledge that Moses was given a revealed book from God known as the Tawrat, known to Jews as the Torah. According to Islamic tradition, Moses was one of the many prophets Muhammad met in the event of the Mi'raj, when he ascended through the seven heavens.
