Vanishing candle flame Category: Science
Dated: 2011-10-13
See how materials use oxygen when they burn.

Steps to be taken

1.    Ask an adult to stick the candle to the bottom of the saucer with some melted candle wax, and then light the candle for you.
2.    Pour about 1 cm of water into the bottom of the saucer. Turn a glass jar upside down and carefully lower it over the candle. The glass should just sit in the water. Watch what happens to the candle flame.
